Short blendshape zbrush setup
On request a very short and simple "tutorial" on how to best create blend shapes in Zbrush with layers.
If it is a bit unclear, give me a shout and I will try and make it easier to understand :)

Polypaint
Hey, another update today..
Wanted to show my workflow on the polypaint for the rest of the body.
It is not a 100% done, but it is a good idea of how it will look done :)

I hope this will help some of you with you own polypaints. I might make another speed where I show my progress on the next level of skin details :)
Until next time :)

Did texture the face of my character over the weekend, it is starting to look reeeally nice :)
Got some feedback today from my classmates and tutors, so I will change things up soon.
Previz and rig preview will come during this week :)
My first go at it, did make a couple of changes after this one
Until next time :)

Long time no see
Hey
Long time no see :)
I have now finally had time to sit down and work on my character for the Major Project.
After trying out allot of different base meshes for my character sculpt I finally found a great base mesh which helped me allot to get things moving. Here is a couple of my head and body tests.
It made it hard to define the correct shapes and look for how I wanted my silhouette to look.
But now I finally have a character I am happy with and it is starting to shape up pretty good :)
For the look of my character I wanted a skinny guy who looked like he had been trough hell and back.
My first "final" sculpt looked way to old.
He is have all the uv's fixed and is shaping up great, later today I will start on my texture painting which will be a a bit challenging for me since I'm not 100% sure if I want to do real SSS or try and fake it in some way.
I will also add some pores and more wrinkles, but that is after I have painted my textures :)
I have also gotten around 80% on my rig, just need to fix the fingers and get the head constraints to work properly.
I followed the Digital Tutors Motion Flow rigging kit to get this puppy up, it have a couple of nifty features in it who I will show off in a later post, most probably with a video clip:)

After a couple of fixes he finally looked younger, and tired.
So here I present to you my final character... William

Update
Okay, I have been working a bit with some of my 3d work for the "valley" and I have finally gotten some scale to it all :)
Been trying out a couple of setups but finally I am getting somewhere with my style.
In the beginning I just wanted a plain valley with a small cave like entry, but after some tests and trials I decided to add some sort of temple area to where the cave hole is!

I have also started some concept sculpt on the head of the character, but they are still a bit rough, so might add them during next week or so.
When it comes to the story I am struggling a bit with to get all my threads together, I might get some changes rolling during the weekend :)
Well, that is it for now, until next time :)

First
Since it is a first blog post, why not give a short update on whats happening.
For the next year or so I will be posting updates on my Major Project as often as possible.
Short description about what I am going to make;
It is a film about a character named William, he have been exposed to a drug-test from an unknown agency, he is in his last moments of life and need to decide what kind of person he is.
The whole film will play out with simple shots in super slow motion that will portray what his last action is in the "Valley of the shadows of death".
Since the style of this film will be realistic I have started some simple anatomy sculpts to get me going on the character, I will try and make all the body parts the next week or two.
Until then
